Protecting Your Peace

I began my spiritual journey by rewarding myself with several months of daily meditation sessions, a pescatarian diet and deliberate self love. I call these things rewards because I can consider these acts the best things that ever happened to me. During the first few months of my journey, I felt the need to get reacquainted with myself through performing these acts. Before long, I began to sense a shift. A shift in my mindset and in my spirit.

One of the first emotions I experienced was peace. Peace within myself as well as peace with the things I had no control over. This feeling filled me from the inside until there was no space left. There was no more hiding the new me. No longer did I enjoy gossip, celebrity news or even hanging out late with friends. I preferred to spend my free time meditating or learning about metaphysics. I was solely focused on my light and furthering my self growth.

As you navigate through your spiritual journey, it is very common to begin to feel as if you are outgrowing certain things, places and even people. THIS IS NORMAL. Your journey was designed to lead you to new heights in both the spiritual and physical realms. There is absolutely no need to feel guilty for outgrowing anything or anyone.

You do not owe anyone an explanation as to why you decided to begin your spiritual journey or how you now decide to spend your time. In fact, you donā€™t even need to let anyone know about it. It is totally up to you rather or not you share this news with others. I decided early on that my journey would be mine and mine alone which allowed me to learn without feeling the judgement of others.

Whatever you decide, understand that you are the only being in control of your emotions, yourself and most importantly your future.

-XOXO Jas
